WKU honors long-time state rep. with naming of "Jody Richards Hall"
Long-time state representative Jody Richards was honored in a big way Thursday.
Western Kentucky University's Mass Media and Technology Hall was re-dedicated today, taking on the name "Jody Richards Hall."
Richards says it was an honor, and during his over 40 years in the Kentucky House of Representative his top priority never changed.
"Education has been my passion in the general assembly for these 42 years," he says, "and I am very proud of where this state has come."
WKU President Dr. Gary Ransdell says of Richards, "He's certainly fundamental to any success I might have had over these past 20 years."
He has absolutely been the go-to partner in Frankfort to help us get things done for this university," he continues, "and you can multiply that many times over for our broader community."
Jody Richards Hall is home to WKU's broadcasting and journalism school.
Richards says if he could pick any building on campus to bear his name it would be this one since he spent an early part of his career teaching journalism at WKU.
