Western Kentucky is hosting Nick Ongenda on an official recruiting visit this week, according to Ongenda’s Instagram page.
Ongenda arrived in Bowling Green on Wednesday and is expected to be on campus Thursday while WKU holds a team scrimmage for professional scouts.
Ongenda is a 6-foot-11, 190-pound center originally from South Africa by way of Toronto and currently playing at Southwest Christian Academy in Little Rock, Ark. Ongenda is considered a four-star prospect in the 2020 class by 247sports.com and reportedly holds scholarship offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma State and Florida.
Ongenda is ranked as the No. 3 overall Canadian prospect by northpolehoops.com and played for the Woodz Elite AAU program this past summer.
Western Kentucky visited with Ongenda on Tuesday and in September.

Player of the week: Born on September 29, 2000 we have Nick Ongenda, from Cape Town, South Africa. His parents are Lilianne and Francois Ongenda; and he has 3 older sisters. When not playing or practicing Nick likes to play video games on his laptop, watch movies, and hangout with friends. An interesting fact most people don’t know about him is that he used to play high level tennis and soccer before he started basketball! Nick has been playing basketball since the 7th grade and is currently a 6’10 forward/center in his Sophomore year weighing 185 lbs. College interest: Pepperdine, UC Irving, Utah Valley Univ., Univ.
