BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- UPDATE: 4/9/2020
The Warren County Sheriff's Office welcomed Deputy Phillip Gaines home Thursday afternoon after his hospitalization from injuries sustained from an intoxicated driver on March 11.
WCSO said Gaines had a long road ahead but are thankful to have him back in Warren County.
An arrest has been made after an accident involving a WCSO deputy Wednesday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., a red truck being operated by Derek Coredell crossed the into the path of Deputy Phillip Gaines on Upper Stone Avenue.
Gaines was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision, and is listed in stable condition, officials said.
Cordell was transported to the Medical Center where he was treated and is now in custody in the Warren County Regional Jail. He has been charged with Assault 1st Degree (Police Officer), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer), DUI 1st Offense (Aggravated Circumstance), Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.
