Woman arrested in Bowling Green hit and run case

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) The Bowling Green Police Department has made an arrest in the hit and run case from last Friday night.

Bowling Green Police Officer found 15-year-old Jada Rigsby on the side of Industrial Drive around 8:45 p.m., and quickly determined she had been hit by a vehicle.

Detectives found video evidence showing a white vehicle on Industrial Drive during the time frame Rigsby was hit.

After multiple news stories, including one our Darby Beane shared, and social media posts from the girl's family, someone called police with information leading the detectives to a vehicle they believed to be involved.

Detectives located the vehicle and the driver who was identified as Alexis Ogles of Bowling Green. After a lengthy interview at the police station, Ogles confessed she hit the teen and left the area. She said she was looking down at her phone prior to hitting the victim.

Ogles was arrested and charged with Assault First Degree and Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to render aid/Assist with Death or Serious Physical Injury. Both are felony charges.
