Women's appreciation march held on WKU's campus

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO)-- Thursday evening on WKU's campus, the Black Student Alliance group held a women's appreciation march.

It started with an awards ceremony honoring women on campus that have made an impact, and then a peaceful walk around campus.

BSA historian and event coordinator Ashley Vaughn says Thursday's event was all about pushing equal rights and showing appreciation to women that inspire in this area every single day.

"There's a lot of women on campus that are really inspirational and they don't really get the recognition that they deserve," Vaughn said. "So I thought why not have a march."

Vaughn said they have another upcoming event to bring awareness to mental health and you can learn more about them on Instagram at BSA_WKU.
