Franklin-Simpson Football Earns Third Straight Finals Berth

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) --- Four different Franklin-Simpson players scored touchdown and the Wildcats rode a stifling defensive effort to earn its third consecutive berth in the Class 4A KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl State Championship Game thanks to a 33-0 victory over Taylor County in a state semifinal contest Friday evening in Campbellsville.

A first-quarter scoring run by the Wildcats' Tre Bass put Franklin-Simpson up for good. Carlos McKinney added a second-quarter scoring run and LeAndre Stutzman caught a touchdown pass to give the Wildcats a 21-0 halftime lead.

Malik Carter scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half for the defending Class 4A state champion Wildcats.

Franklin-Simpson will take on Johnson Central in the Class 4A KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl State Championship Game on Saturday, December 1, at 3:30 p.m. Central time at Kroger Field in Lexington.
