FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO)-- On National Signing Day at Franklin-Simpson High School, the duo of lineman Cole Kirby and all-purpose athlete Josiah Robey made their college decision official.

Kirby signed his National Letter of Intent to play college football at Middle Tennessee, while Robey chose the University of Cincinnati.

Kirby looked at several options including WKU and Virginia before deciding with the Blue Raiders.

After thinking about Austin Peay as a potential landing spot, Robey chose the Bearcats where his uncle and former Kentucky coach Joker Phillips was named new Wide Receivers coach.

The standout players were leaders on both sides of the ball on a Franklin-Simpson team that went 14-1 and advanced to the Class 4A state championship game last season losing to Johnson Central.
