Western Kentucky women's basketball is preparing for its second top 25 opponent in three games, as they'll welcome No. 13 Iowa to E.A. Diddle Arena 6 p.m. Tuesday.
This is a rematch of last season's104-97 overtime thriller in the Hawkeye Challenge that the Hawkeyes claimed with a late rally.
The Hawkeyes are led by senior forward Megan Gustafson, who's averaged 18.3 points and 10 rebounds over her career. She led all scorers with 35 points in the last meeting between the two teams. She pulled down 17 boards and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
"We're going to work hard to limit her touches, but that's easier said than done," Head coach Greg Collins said. "We tried to do the same thing last year and she went off for 35 and I don't think she put the ball on the floor, not one-time last year and we had Ivy Brown and Raneem (Elgedawy) last year. So we're going to work hard at it again."
