The Western Kentucky basketball program received a verbal commitment Saturday from Isaiah Cozart.
Cozart visited WKU earlier this month and then again over the weekend to take in the Hilltoppers' open scrimmage at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Cozart is a 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward at Madison Central High School with scholarship offers from Charlotte, East Tennessee, North Carolina Wilmington, North Carolina Asheville, Wofford, St. Bonaventure, Toledo, Southeast Missouri State, Winthrop, Belmont, Morehead State, William and Mary, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky.
He was an all-sate selection for the 2017-18 season.
Cozart averaged 12.7 points and 10 rebounds per game last year as a junior. As a sophomore he blocked 216 shots and 319 as a junior putting him in position to break the state’s all-time record for career blocked shots (541).
Cozart joins Clinton County guard Jackson Harlan as part of WKU's 2019 signing class. The NCAA's early signing period runs from Nov. 14-21.
Former Nick Ongenda of Southwest Christian Academy (Ark.) has committed to be a part of the 2020 class.
