Receiver Russell Brown commits to WKU

The Western Kentucky football program received a verbal commitment Saturday from Russell Brown.


Brown is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver from Lehigh Acres, Fla. Considered a three-star prospect, Brown reportedly holds scholarship offers from WKU, South Carolina, South Florida, Maryland and Oregon, among others.

As a junior at Lehigh High School, Brown had 31 catches for 293 yards in seven games. He’s grabbed two passes for eight yards in his only game this season. Brown also played in 10 games for the Lehigh basketball team last year.

Brown is the 20th member of the 2018 signing class for WKU.
