Report: Helton Agrees To Coach WKU Football

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) --- ESPN Senior Staff Writer Chris Low is reporting that Tennessee Volunteers offensive coordinator Tyson Helton has reached an agreement to become the next head football coach at WKU.

Helton was a Hilltoppers' assistant under then-WKU Head Coach Jeff Brohm during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

The ESPN report says an announcement is expected in the next day or two.

WKU Director Of Athletics Todd Stewart was unavailable for comment.

Mike Sanford was dismissed as the Hilltoppers head football coach Sunday.
