Running back Trigg announces departure from WKU football

Western Kentucky running back Marquez Trigg announced Tuesday via his Twitter page his intention to transfer.

Trigg (6-foot, 220) has nine carries for 12 yards this season. The redshirt-junior rushed for 167 yards on 51 attempts last season and scored twice and 298 yards on 71 runs with two scores in 2016.

A Glasgow High School graduate, Trigg redshirted in 2015 after rushing for 1,615 yards on 286 carries with 26 touchdowns as a senior.

Western Kentucky confirmed Tuesday his departure from the program.
