Western Kentucky has added nonconference home games in football against Austin Peay and Tennessee-Chattanooga. The Hilltoppers will host APSU on Sept. 8, 2018 and UTC on Sept. 5, 2020.
Western is 35-6-1 against Austin Peay and the two teams last met in the 2012 season-opener – a 49-10 WKU win. The Governors last won in 1995 in Clarksville, Tenn., and have never won in Bowling Green in 22 trips dating back to 1940.
Austin Peay, members of the Ohio Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision, went 0-11 in 2015.
Chattanooga owns an 8-5 record against the Tops and won the last meeting 28-21 in 2007. The Mocs are also 4-2 in Bowling Green. The teams first met in 1927.
Chattanooga, members of the Southern Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision, went 9-4 in 2015 and lost in the second round of the FCS playoffs.
Western Kentucky still has one nonconference game to schedule in 2018 (APSU, at Wisconsin, at Ball State) and two more to schedule in 2019 (at Indiana, at Army) and 2020 (UTC, at Indiana).
