WKU soccer drops fifth straight match

Old Dominion scored three goals in the final 17 minutes of play as Western Kentucky lost 4-0 at the ODU Soccer Complex in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday to end its five-match road trip.

Ambere Barnett led the Lady Toppers (2-7-2, 0-4 Conference USA) with three shots on the day, putting two of those chances on target, and both Megan Morris and Ashley Leonard had two shots apiece.

In goal, Bailee Witt played the full 90 minutes and made three saves, all of which came in the second half of play.

For the Monarchs (4-6-2, 1-3 C-USA), Morgan Hall had a team-best three shots and scored a pair of goals while playing only 51 minutes off the bench. Iris Achterhof also assisted on a pair of the Monarch goals. In goal, Jasmine Crawley played the full match and made four saves to record the clean sheet.

Western Kentucky has dropped five straight matches.

The Lady Toppers return home to the WKU Soccer Complex to host Florida International at 6 p.m. Friday.
