Western Kentucky assistant coach Marc Hsu visited with Tyrell Jones earlier this week.
Jones is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard playing his senior season at West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla. A four-star prospect, Jones has more than 30 scholarship offers – including one from WKU he reported in July.
An independent all-state selection by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches, Jones scored 40 points and made 12 3s in a game against Downey Christian earlier this year. He averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 3.1 assists per game this past season for WOA.

Also this week, WKU head coach Rick Stansbury checked in on Lester Quinones.
Quinones is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard playing his senior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. A four-star prospect, Quinones has nearly 30 offers – including one from WKU in August of 2017.
Quinones transferred this summer to IMG from St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey. He has also played for the national team of the Dominican Republic.
