The terms of Western Kentucky's apparel deal with Nike have been obtained by WBKO through an open records request.
The two parties announced a partnership in July and the current deal runs through June 30, 2022. Western Kentucky will be able to use up to $430,000 in product retail for its athletic teams during the first year of the contract and $415,000 each of the following years.
The school previously had a five-year agreement with Russell Athletic from 2012-2016 in which it received $460,000 in the final year of that deal. In August of 2015, WKU announced a five-year, $3.5 million renewal with Russell before switching to Nike this summer.
