BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO)-- Western Kentucky looked like a team on a mission Saturday at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
The Hilltoppers blasted visiting Texas-El Paso 40-16 to give WKU and its 10 seniors a win in the finale at Feix Field.
WKU (2-9, 1-6 CUSA) had its highest scoring performance all season and the third time in the Mike Sanford era the Hilltoppers scored 40 or more points.
The Toppers' defense intercepted the Miners two quarterbacks five times and held UTEP to 392 yards of total offense.
WKU closes out the 2018 season Saturday, Nov. 24 at Louisiana Tech. Kickoff set for 11 a.m.
