Western Kentucky plays No. 4 Wisconsin at 8 p.m. Friday on ESPN.

Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst spoke on the Big Ten Conference coaches' teleconference Tuesday. His comments are below as well as video of his weekly news conference from Madison, Wisc., on Sunday:

OPENING STATEMENT

"Well certainly looking forward to starting the season. As a coach you're always appreciative of all that goes in to getting to this point and now we gotta finish this week of preparation and get to start off the season Friday night against what we anticipate will be a very good Western Kentucky team."

ON PREPARING FOR WKU/SEASON OPENER

"Each game, each week has its challenges. Certainly when you open up with a team that you know something about, and we know their staff is entering their second season, and obviously their program, those players have won a lot of games.

"And yet you don't know what you're gonna get exactly. That's why you gotta prepare the best you can knowing there's gonna be some in-game adjustments you're gonna have to make."
