Paducah shooting victim & her unborn child die; 3 suspects face additional charges
PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - One of the victims of a Paducah nightclub shooting and her unborn child have died, and three suspects now face additional charges.
According to the Paducah Police Department, 20-year-old Jamiyah Walker, of Paducah, was removed from life support on Wednesday, August 13 at a Nashville, Tenn. hospital.
She had been hospitalized since the shooting on Aug. 9.
Police say her she was pregnant at the time of the shooting, and the unborn child did not survive.
They say Walker was an organ donor and her decision will help others in need.
Due to their deaths, detectives consulted with the McCracken Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and more charges have been filed.
Capus J. Adams, Malik Copeland and the 16-year-old juvenile have been charged with complicity to commit first-degree murder and complicity to commit first-degree fetal homicide.
A total of four people have been arrested in connection the shooting at a nightclub in Paducah.
The fourth person, Jystacye D. Pitts, 20, of Union City, Tenn., was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after he admitted to firing a gun in a crowded area.
Two other women were injured in the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
