Kentucky Foundation of Women awards Art Enrichment Grant

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Kentucky Foundation of Women (KFW) awarded local artist Lexie Erskine the Art Enrichment Grant.

This grant serves women artist in the community and helps provide opportunities and supports them in their artistic development.

Receiving this grant, gave Erskine the opportunity to create something meaningful that not only represents her, but the special women she has in her life.

Erskine describes the connection she created between nature and the women that helped shape who she is today.

“I moved a lot as a kid and so I’ve got to know many places and this is kind of a culmination of how place and people come together and how our stories come together and how the people around us actually make us who we are,” said Erskine.

Presenting a gallery of her work in The Capitol, Erskine is honored by the opportunity to share a part of herself with others.

“To know that I think about stories and I think about the women in my life and how I’m carrying them with me in my own life every single day,” said Erskine. “And then to want to share that story through art.”
