Edmonson County kicks off summer with two big events this weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Freedom Fest and a Music & Arts Festival bring family fun, fireworks, and live entertainment to the community.

Edmonson County has a packed weekend ahead, with two community events offering something for everyone — from a free fireworks show Friday night to a full day of live music and local art on Saturday.

Freedom Fest 2026 | Friday, June 26

The annual Freedom Fest returns Friday evening with a celebration of family, food, and fireworks.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. at 1160 Chalybeate School Rd, and best of all — admission is free.

Families are encouraged to come early, enjoy the food and festivities, and stay for what organizers promise will be an amazing fireworks display to cap off the night.

Edmonson County Music & Arts Festival | Saturday, June 27

The fun continues Saturday with the Edmonson County Music & Arts Festival — a full day of live music, local artwork, food vendors, and family activities.

The festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Edmonson County Fairgrounds, 350 Fairgrounds Rd.

Admission:

• Adults: $20
• Children (Under 12): $10
• Children 5 & Under: FREE

Rain or shine — organizers say the show will go on regardless of the weather. The main stage will be covered, vendors will be set up inside with additional vendors under tents outside, and a large tent will shelter the nine food trucks on site.
