Stolen firearm recovered in Franklin search

FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) - Two people have been arrested in Franklin after officers responded to an altercation at The Mint Gaming Hall shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officers made contact with two suspects who were believed to be involved in an assault, and security upon their arrival.

A K9 was deployed on the vehicle of the suspects, and indicated an odor of narcotics.

Police then conducted a search of the vehicle and the two adults.

Police found narcotics, a digital scale, money, and a loaded firearm.

The firearm’s serial number was searched and discovered to be reported stolen out of Tennessee.

Both were arrested on assault-related charges, narcotics-related charges, and charges related to the firearm.

Their identities remain unknown at this time.
