Brooks Houck is now in custody at another facility after he was transferred from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center to the Roederer Correctional Complex in Oldham County on Monday, Dec. 29.
In the motion, State Farm says Houck’s renter’s insurance, which provides liability insurance as well, does not apply as their policy only applies to accidental bodily injury or property damage and not intentional.
Houck is one of the three men convicted in the case of the disappearance and presumed murder of Crystal Rogers, a Bardstown mother last seen over ten years ago.
Crystal Rogers’ family sat down with WAVE News anchor Maira Ansari to share their thoughts on the conviction of the three men who killed the Bardstown mother.
Court documents allege Brooks Houck was trying to sell or transfer several of his assets to shield them in the pending wrongful death lawsuit filed by Crystal Rogers' family.
Sheriff Ramon Pinerioa made it clear that the search for Crystal Rogers' body will not stop anytime soon, and the missing posters posted all over the county will not come down either.
Defense attorneys for Lawson and Houck made their final attempts to convince the jury of their clients’ innocence, while prosecutors rehashed key parts of their case against the men.
Prosecutors rested their case against Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson Tuesday afternoon, paving the way for the defense to call witnesses and for jury deliberations to begin.
As prosecutors and defense attorneys prepare their cases, previously revealed information from Steve Lawson’s trial is expected to face new scrutiny and interpretation.
As day one of the Steven Lawson trial began on Tuesday in Warren County, many in Nelson County, where the case takes place, were thinking about the implications for the community.
